Last weekend our local library hosted a Star Wars event. The boys wanted to dress up and since Yoda (who they insist on calling "Master Yoga") is their favorite character, we whipped up some green pointy ears.
| pouty lips and dimples! seriously, my heart could explode! |
Our Supplies: an old orange juice carton, scissors/x-acto knife, green acrylic paint, paint brush, pipe cleaners, & hot glue
Step 1: Use scissors or an e-xato knife to remove corners from the bottom of the orange juice carton - you need two corners per set of ears.
Step 2: Paint inside and outside of corners, allow to dry.
Step 3: Twist two pipe cleaners together and shape ends into circles to go around child's ears. Pipe cleaners should be sized to fit comfortably around the back of child's head.
Step 4: Hot glue triangles to circle parts of pipe cleaners. Also adding glue to the top of pipe cleaners ensures that they will stay in place.
Step 5: Once glue has dried, slip pipe cleaners around the back of the head and over the ears.
Little Lady and I stayed home and napped instead of going to the event. Jeremy was very impressed with all the work they put in to it - our library is one our town's best assets. The boys both reported having a fabulous time.

I love that first picture. Your boys are soooo cute! What a brilliant idea for a costume.
