Weekly Outfit Summary

Except for the bracelets, I've had every piece of this outfit for over five years. A couple things are almost a decade old! When I'm smitten with a piece it's really hard for me to get rid of it or to "upgrade". Theses heels are from Target and there have been a couple times where I thought I should probably invest in a better pair. However, I have yet to find a style I like more...and these are super comfortable...and we've shared so many happy times.   SUNDAY old and older :)  Sometimes I'm shocked by the pieces that make it to Anthropologie's clearance room. I found this top a couple weeks back for only $20! It's very light weight so it's been a great spring transition piece.  TUESDAY top: anthropologie , jeans : gap , shoes: dsw , bracelet: target Jeremy made me these charms for Mother's Day last year - I know a snagged a really good one! I've been meaning to pick up some supplies so I can put them ...

Weekly Outfit Summary

I have two self-imposed rules for outfit pictures. One, that they don't exasperate my children. Two, that they don't make us late.  Because of these rules my location is usually confined to around my house and I limit the allotted time to under five minutes. On the morning we took these pictures this was the only area with shade and to my right was a car full of neighbors waiting to leave for church. Most of our neighbors have seen me taking outfit pictures and a few of the less inhibited (mostly children) have asked about it, but it's still quite awkward to have a car full watching from just a few feet away.  SUNDAY shirt : old navy , skirt + belt + shoes: thrift I adore these pants and was very excited about wearing them a ton this spring. Unfortunately, I noticed a small tear in the rear section - I think it was caused by a few to many child-lifting-squats. I'm hoping it can be repaired but the material is so delicate that I'm afraid they m...

Mommy Style Summary

I probably say this every time I wear it, but, I adore this skirt! It's one of my favorite pieces I've ever purchased from Anthropologie . It definitely wins "most worn" - all the colors in the pattern make it very versatile.  TUESDAY scarf: target , sweater: gap , skirt: anthropologie , shoes: dsw This outfit was built around the gold polka dot tights - I wanted to wear them at least one more time before the weather got too warm.  WEDNESDAY hat + shirt + shorts: gap , tights: target , shoes: charming charlie's necklaces: kohl's + f21 This outfit was thrown together last minute - it's really not appropriate to wear pajama's over to friends' house for dinner even if you are only having salad and pizza. I'm not sure I'll ever outgrow my affection for skirts and dresses over jeans. I also have a thing for quirky socks - hopefully nobody judges when I'm still wearing both at the age of seventy. F...

This post is going up a little later than usual because Jeremy and I just returned from a extended weekend trip to Nashville. We left the kids with Maca and stayed with a good friend. It was our first time visiting the city and we loved it. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to visit again soon.  This dress was bit a of a risky purchase for me. I was unsure about the lace and the hot pink, though I am so glad I convinced myself to go for it - it's hard to say no when it's on clearance and you have a gift-card. I bought it with a summer wedding in mind but it's quickly become one of my favorite pieces to layer, see  here  &  here . sweater + dress: anthropologie , boots: piperlime Words cannot express how enamored I am with this dress. Seriously, many childhood fantasies have been fulfilled. It's my second dress from the online boutique,  eshakti , and I am continually amazed by the quality of their pieces - the fabric and attention to detai...

They offer a great selection of vintage inspired dresses, skirts, tops, and jackets, but what really sets them apart is their affordable customization. You have the option to order a standard size or have the piece cut to your specific measurements. The sleeves, neckline, and hemlines of their pieces can also be customized to fit your personal style and needs. When I ordered the dress above I had the hemline shortened to knee length and the sleeves switched from cap-sleeve to three-quarter length. I love this dress. The fabric and workmanship is high quality and the cut is exactly what I wanted.  Through March 10, 2013**  Eshakti is offering Joyfully Weary readers a 20% off discount; just ent...
