I've been seeing a lot of of "clean out your closet" tips in magazines and on blogs lately and they all seem to agree that if you haven't worn an item in a year or you don't like they way it fits, throw it out. I've never been very good at following that rule and lately I'm glad. Two items I wore this week (Tuesday's sweater & Thursday's jeans) have previously fallen into both those categories, but I've never been able to part with them. The jeans were my favorite for a long time and I've had this particular sweater since high school - there are just too many memories. When the weather turned cooler this week and I opened my fall clothes bin, I was so happy they were still there, and this year they were the first things I wanted to wear. I'm not saying it's wise to be a pack rat with all your clothes (cleaning out can be therapeutic) but I do think it's okay and even wise to keep some items (i.e. red pants) even when they take a year or two hiatus.

You may have noticed that my glasses have made another appearance. I have not been sleeping in my contacts :), my eyes have just been a little temperamental (dry & red). I'm trying to be kinder to them.
I agree...sometimes you just need to hold on to things. They come back in style!
